Herat University

Herat University is located in Herat, the capital of Herat Province, in western Afghanistan.

Herat University was founded in 1988. It is attended by approximately 3,000 students, 900 of whom are women. The university is still recovering from the long period of war and chaos in the country. The main campus is currently undergoing reconstruction.

The university has 11 faculties in the fields of Agriculture, Economics, Pharmacy, Islamic Studies, Law, Computer Science, Language and Literature, Science, Engineering, Journalism, Veterinary Medicine, Social Science and Fine Arts.
